Our first time back since their new renovation, very clean and i love the traditional vibes! all the chairs and tables are well spaced so you're also not super close to the neighbor! We ordered (4/5) spicy octopus hot stone, decent but could be better seasoned, missing a little umami in there 5/5 Kimchi season tofu- good flavor, nothing to complain about Overall really enjoy their lunch special. Maybe we will try something else on their menu next time!
A solid option for Korean tofu soup! Went as a little celebration for my moms birthday - it was a weekend, so it was fairly busy! We wrote our names down and went to yogurtland next door while we waited. By the time we had a few bites, we were already ushered in within 20 mins. You can tell it's a tight ship, and it seems like service is very efficient. It was just very noisy and hard to hear my mom as we tried talking to each other. I'd also consider the price range pretty expensive: we weren't super hungry, so ordering a dinner combination to split between us was more than enough. We got the beef tofu soup and galbi rib dinner combo. The sides offered were pretty good, but sad they don't have a potato salad side dish....which a typical favorite for me. Everything was pretty yummy, just very loud: wouldn't recommend going on a busy weekend if you wanted to talk or catch up. There is ample parking in the shared lot, as well as street parking.
Service is great & food was spot on. Very generous with their side dishes. My son loved the steamed garlic pork.
I have been young ding tofu house for years. Their service is quick and the food quality is always good. They remodeled a few years ago and it felt more cozy. I love the tofu stone pot and all the delicious side. This is a perfect place for family gathering or girlfriends catchup. The comfy food hits the spot!
Went for dinner last week with a group of friends. We were seated fairly quickly at around 6 pm. We all ordered the combinations so that we could share dishes. I had the medium mushroom tofu soup. Flavor was really good. I also had purple rice. We also had kalbi, chicken katsu, bibimbap, japchae, and spicy chicken. Everything was delicious. Granted, I don't often eat Korean food, but the food was really tasty. The only thing that was an issue was that it was a really hot evening and so the restaurant was really warm. Definitely going back.
Finally got around to trying Young Dong Tofu House, and what a cute aesthetic and interior they have! Each little booth is like it's own small Korean village hut type feeling. Service is fairly quick. They give you option of hot tea (barley) or ice water. Their banchans are a bit limited compared to other tofu houses I've been to, but were fine nonetheless. I did like their cucumber kimchi the best. I also like that they allow for some combinations here as well. I ordered C8 Yellow Croaker (aka Yellow Corvina here) + Beef & Seafood Tofu Soup (mild). They give you an egg to crack into the soup yourself. I enjoyed both of my combo dishes. Hubby ordered C5 Garlic Soy Chicken (aka non-spicy chicken) + Pork Dumpling and Tofu Soup (non-spicy). He enjoyed his food as well. The tofu they use here at YD is the soft silken tofu, which is nice. Parking is in shared plaza lot with Sun Nong Dan, 168 Market, and Sam Woo. It gets crowded around the dinner rush quickly. Spaces are tight too, so I recommend parking butt-in when you can! I think most patrons around dinner are eating at YD Tofu House and SND. Service is quick, and restaurant is fairly clean.
This review is only for the cold noodle. it is off their menu and maybe only for summer time. It has no taste what so ever! Just like cucumber water. The beef slices were tough. As you can see in the picture, I only ate the tough beef and half of the boiled noodle. Everything else is trash! They shouldn't serve this at all. I gave 4 stars for the service and their other food. It is still good to come here, just don't order the cold noodle
Was craving for some Korean tofu soup and this place does not disappoint. The Banchan selections are great. Their kimchi varieties are made daily. We had the Beef and seafood tofu soup and the spicy squid rice in hot pot stone pot. Everything is just fantastic. They don't charge for hot tea or water. Free refill on the banchan! Servers were pretty attentive and you don't feel crowded even though the restaurant was busy.
I want to say this might be one of my favorite restaurants in 2023. I came here a couple of times and every time it just gets better and better. First off, I'm not a huge fan of kimchi but this place makes it so good. It's so good that I even get extra to take it home to eat. I love the season on it. It's just right. I have tried a couple of dishes here but my favorite order would be the chicken katsu and a tofu. The chicken katsu is so tender and deep fry to perfection. The tofu is always delicious. It comes nice and hot with different toppings. I always opted for beef but sometimes change it to dumplings or ham. Any you pick will be great. Also, I have to speak about their rice. Their Brown Rice but it's actually purple rice, not sure why they call it Brown Rice. Never mind the color, but it's yummy. Ok, it might just taste like regular rice but it just makes me feel like I'm eating something more healthy since it's colorful. Overall, this place is great to try if you want some hot tofu, excellent kimchi, and Korean food.
